Work-study programs: instructions for use
The two types of work-study contract (apprenticeship or professional training contract): where to turn?
University courses are governed by 2 student statuses: those on initial training (FI) and those on continuing training (FC). The first status (FI) is intended for people who are continuing their studies without interrupting them, and the second (FC) for people returning to study after a period of professional activity and/or unemployment (usually at least 3 years without study since the last recognized diploma). These 2 statuses give "birth" to 2 work-study contracts: the apprenticeship contract (for the FI public) and the professionalization contract (for the FC public).
Sometimes, however, even though you are an initial training (IT) student, you may be required to sign a professionalization contract (for example, some companies only sign professionalization contracts, not apprenticeship contracts). There's nothing to worry about in this case, but you'll switch from FI to FC status.
Administrative aspects: how to proceed?
Setting up a work-study contract means that students have to deal with a number of different people, including :
- For an apprenticeship contract: the pedagogical secretariat of the diploma concerned, of course, but also the FEG's SFCA (Service Formation Continue et Alternance) and a CFA (Centre de Formation des Apprentis),
- For a professional training contract: the secretariat of the diploma concerned, of course, but also the FEG's SFCA (Service Formation Continue et Alternance). The contact details at the end of the training pages indicate for each FEG work-study program the contacts to use for the pedagogical secretariats and a contact at the SFCA (for apprenticeship contracts, it's the program that will put you "in touch" with the appropriate CFA).
For general information of an administrative or financial nature concerning apprenticeship contracts, please contact the SFCA: feg-sfca@univ-amu.fr.

Apply for a work-study // All courses
Step 1: Applying for training
- For candidates with initial training (IF) status at the time of application: the application is made electronically via eCandidat or Monmaster.
-
For candidates with continuing education (CE) status at the time of application: the application must be submitted to the Continuing Education and Work-study Department (SFCA); an application form must be completed and returned to the SFCA with all the required supporting documents (Download the application form here).
Step 2: Validate your work-study program
Training courses regularly publish the work-study offers they receive, but you can (and should!) also do your own research.
Once you've found a work-study placement, you need to have it validated by the work-study manager of the training program that recruited you, by sending him or her your company details, a promise to hire you and a document setting out the assignments entrusted to you.If you're applying via MonMaster, you'll need to submit a promise to hire and a document listing your assignments.
Please note: for some courses, the number of work-study places is limited.Step 3: Drawing up the work-study contract
The FEG's continuing education and work-study department (SFCA) will contact you and your employer to discuss the rest of the process.
Step 4: Administrative registration (IA) for the course
If you have applied via eCandidat or MonMaster, you will receive a link to pre-register via the web AI.
