Go to the library! 

The BU (Joint Documentation Service) is much more than just a library: it’s a workspace and resource center dedicated to helping you succeed.

There, you can:

• work alone or in a group;
• reserve study rooms;
• borrow books recommended by your teachers;
• access, using your reader account via the digital learning platform, virtually all online journals and resources.

The University Library also offers training sessions on research skills. Don’t hesitate to participate—they’ll help you find reliable sources, use the university’s resources effectively, and become more independent in your research.

Getting involved in a student organization is a great way to make the most of your college experience. This involvement allows you to:

Fund Your Student Organization Projects

Do you have a project to liven up campus life? Aix-Marseille University, the Faculty of Economics and Management, and the CROUS offer several programs to help you fund it.

The FSDIE
The Student Initiative Solidarity and Development Fund (FSDIE) supports projects led by students and student organizations.
To qualify for this funding, you must submit an application outlining: the project’s objectives, planned activities, evaluation criteria, and a balanced projected budget.
Applications are reviewed by the Office of Student Life (BVE) and then examined by university authorities before funding is awarded.
Do you have an idea? Feel free to contact the Office of Student Life for assistance in putting together your application and identifying the most appropriate funding program.

The CVEC
The Student and Campus Life Contribution (CVEC), paid upon enrollment, helps fund projects that enhance student life on the various campuses of Aix-Marseille University.
CVEC committees are organized on each campus to review submitted projects.
What kinds of projects can be funded? Students, student organizations, and staff can propose projects of general interest in a wide range of areas:

• health, prevention, and disability;
• social support;
• sports;
• culture and the arts;
• student welcome and integration;
• community life;
• citizenship and equality;
• environment and sustainable development;
• campus improvement and activities.

Get active at the university!

The SUAPS at Aix-Marseille University offers a wide range of sports activities throughout the year. 
Visit the SPORTS SUAPS AMU website to explore the options and be sure to meet the registration deadlines.
Please note : For certain activities, a medical questionnaire replaces the medical certificate.

Earn a sports bonus
As an undergraduate (L1, L2, L3) or first-year graduate student (Master 1), regular participation in sports can earn you a bonus of 0 to 0.5 points added to your semester GPA, depending on current criteria.
To qualify: choose an activity, sign up for a “Bonus” time slot via the SPORT SUAPS AMU website, and participate in the sessions.

Practice a sport for fun
Want to try a new activity or play a sport for your well-being? Sign up for a “packsport ” session and enjoy sports throughout your academic career.

Compete in intercollegiate competitions
You can represent the FEG in university competitions by obtaining an FFSU license from your faculty’s sports office.
This may also qualify you for the sports bonus, subject to current terms and conditions.

PackSport+
Would you like to participate in multiple activities or try specific sports? PackSport+ offers activities such as weight training, cardio, swimming, horseback riding, sailing, scuba diving, and paragliding.
These activities require separate registration and are subject to a fee.

High-Level Athletes
Students with High-Level Athlete (SHN) status may request adjustments to their academic program.
The application form is available on the SPORT SUAPS AMU website and must be submitted during the month of September. Applications are reviewed by a committee, which grants SHN status if applicable.

The Science Outreach Unit of the Research and Outreach Division at Aix-Marseille University is dedicated to fostering knowledge sharing between the university and society. It trains researchers in science communication, coordinates school workshops at the Ateliers d’AMU (St. Charles campus) and in classrooms, organizes free cultural events such as the European Researchers’ Night and the Science Souk, and produces outreach resources in collaboration with researchers, which are available on the science-o-thèque.

AMPHI: lecture hall
BU SCD: university library or joint documentation service, where you’ll find a wealth of resources throughout your time as a student.
CROUS: Regional Center for University Services, the place to find housing in a university residence hall or to apply for a need-based financial aid grant.
CVEC: Student and Campus Life Contribution, which you pay before enrolling in college and which may fund projects you might support by getting involved in student organizations at the college or university.
CAFET / RU: The cafeteria offers takeout meals; the university dining hall offers sit-down dining. 
CPGE: preparatory classes for the grandes écoles. We have three preparatory classes here at the university!
CM: lectures (often held in a lecture hall).
TD: tutorials, classes in smaller groups.
DU: university diploma.
DESU: University Graduate Diploma.
FI: Initial training.
FA: Work-study program (apprenticeship contract, professional training contract) 
FC: Continuing education.
IA: Administrative registration.
IP: Academic registration, which allows you to register for exams.
RI: International Relations—if you plan to participate in an Erasmus exchange or an international mobility program, this is the dedicated office.
SCOL: Academic Affairs—a department and team that will support you throughout your program. If you have a question, a concern, an absence, important dates to remember, M3C, rules, etc., don’t hesitate to contact Academic Affairs.
SIUAPS: Interuniversity Service for Physical and Sports Activities, which offers sports activities. 
SIUMPPS: Inter-university Service for Preventive Medicine and Health Promotion. This is our health service! Don’t hesitate to contact them.
UE: Courses are divided into “Teaching Units” (organized by subject). Each UE corresponds to a certain number of “credits.” Each semester is worth 30 credits. A bachelor’s degree is worth 180 credits. A master’s degree is worth 120 credits.
ECTS: European Credit Transfer System, or simply “credits.” They are awarded upon successful completion of a Teaching Unit. They are valid throughout the European Union and facilitate academic exchanges through Erasmus or dual-degree programs.
