Objectives
The AES Bachelor's degree is a generalist training course focused on the analysis of major contemporary economic, political and social issues.
Through its multidisciplinary anchoring, the course allows the acquisition of fundamental knowledge and analytical techniques from three areas that constitute the core of the courses:- Economics and management
- Law
- Political and social science
In addition, there is a set of cross-cutting skills: IT, language, competition methodology (essay, summary note, etc.).
Specific to AMU, the political science colouring of this course allows us to envisage gateways to the Institutes of Political Studies and Masters in Political Science after L3. Starting in the first year of the first year of the IEPs, training is offered for the joint competitive entrance exam to the first year of the IEPs, which is part of the democratisation process at the IEP of Aix-en-Provence.
By emphasizing the acquisition of a high level of general culture and a perfect mastery of written and oral expression methods, this training equips the graduate with transferable skills, which open up a variety of possibilities for further study in numerous masters (applied economics, HR, sociology, local planning and development, social policies, teaching professions, etc.) and schools (Institutes of Political Studies, training institutes for social workers, ESPE, etc.).
As a generalist, this training also prepares students for civil service and local authority competitions, or for many other professions in the public and para-public sector: teaching, communication, consulting and expertise in the management of public policies, HR, but also the associative world...

Currently studying for a Master's degree in Human Resources, Ikram began her first year at the FEG in Economics and Management. Wishing a certain multidisciplinarity in her studies, she decided to reorient herself in the AES Social and Political Sciences degree to discover other fields such as sociology or social policies and human resources.
I chose this course because it's multidisciplinary, it covers a bit of every field of social science, and I really liked it. I was able to deepen my knowledge of sociology, law, economics and political science. We worked on university exercises such as the summary note, oral expression, presentation, essay, field investigation, mini dissertation: it's a very complete training.
The particularity of this licence is that it is very general as well as very specific, the requirements are quite high. What I liked the most is that the students are really active. We're not only learning from what we already know, but we're also collecting information for our dissertations.
What I liked about this training is the possibility of writing theses, with a view to a master's degree or to take part in competitions such as those in the civil service. I am continuing my studies in a Master's degree in International Relations.
The thing that gets me the most out of this training is the field investigation. I'm continuing my studies in a Master's degree in sociology.
