🚀 Young people are seeking to make their concerns and expectations heard.
The goal of @jeunesse_2027 is to put young people’s voices back at the heart of the democratic debate and give them the opportunity to be heard.
Today, here are their top 10 proposals addressing the major challenges facing their generation: precarious living conditions, health, social integration, employment, democracy, and climate change.
💬 These are concrete, actionable proposals that they want to champion in the public debate and bring to the attention of the presidential candidates!
👉 Check out the 10 proposals:
1. Offer a free health checkup to all 20-year-olds to make prevention a genuine public policy
2. Make it mandatory to take into account the results of petitions, citizens’ assemblies, and citizen-initiated referendums in public decision-making
3. Make the protection of life a national priority on par with defense and security
4. Require that a company’s impact on the climate and biodiversity be a major criterion in the awarding of public contracts, and then extend this rule to private tenders
5. Improve the existing public rental guarantee by making it a single, simpler program recognized by all landlords to facilitate access to housing for young people without a guarantor
6. Launch a national plan to align training programs with labor market needs and promote vocational pathways
7. Introduce a one-hour career guidance class every two weeks so that all young people are aware of their rights, the available assistance, and the various educational pathways
8. Organize mental health awareness workshops at every stage of schooling, led by specialized professionals
9. Take civic engagement into account when calculating retirement benefits
10. Create an anti-discrimination liaison at every university dedicated to supporting students who are victims of discrimination in their search for internships or work-study programs
