The work of Morgane Rannou, a graduate of the École Supérieure d'Art et Design de Toulon-Provence
Méditerranée (ESADTPM), focuses on architecture and the notion of habitat. In her photographs, she takes a look at in-between places, temporarily abandoned by their owners. These places become empty shells awaiting their inhabitants, and the photograph captures this moment, as if cradled outside time. On the one hand, Morgane Rannou's research focuses on vacation homes, and in particular on seaside infrastructures deserted in the off-season, inducing a certain image of idleness in this conventional, stereotyped setting; on the other, she confronts us with the normalization of everyday living, metaphorically becoming an idealized form of the common order.
"And if I close my eyes, I can feel the rays again" is an initial point of departure in the process of exploring and discovering the vacation home, from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic, where summer idyll gives way to the stasis of the commonplace.
