I graduated from EMFO in 2019 and did a gap year during the 2019-2020 academic year. I went with the EF organization. I spent 4 months in New York, one month in Vancouver and 2 months in San Francisco (I should have stayed for 3 months, but the global health crisis cut my stay short).

I did my gap year between my Master 1 and my Master 2. At first, I was a bit reluctant to leave the school system for a year. First of all because I was apprehensive about going back to university but also because of the bad image that a gap year can still have in companies. However, these were only preconceived ideas. I was an au-pair in Berlin for 2 months, then I joined a Berlin start-up for an internship for 3 months and then I d [...] Read more

I have always been able to justify my choice for this gap year.

I went to art school, I have a degree in textile design from the Rhine School of Art. After that, I worked for a year and a half in the textile industry as a collection assistant and product manager; but I felt that I needed to have a more solid base in business and management, which is why I decided to do a Master's degree in Fashion.

Before the Fashion Master, I was at Kedge Business School. Then I decided to go for a Master's degree in order to specialise in fashion because that's what interested me. I had a lot of commercial knowledge, but what I lacked was the creative side. The Fashion Master's degree allowed me to see and put forward the merchandising side, to better know the fabrics, I made a lot of progress with Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and that he [...] Read more
