Choosing a work-study program at university means committing to a high value-added training program!

Choosing a work-study program means obtaining a high-level university degree (from Bac + 3 to Bac + 5) while acquiring professional experience in the field, which is valued on your CV, and is a privileged way to access a sustainable job.

  • The advantages of work-study programs

    Work-linked training is a rhythm of training that is based on periods in the company and periods in training that alternate. It allows you to build a complete professional project thanks to a diploma course (bachelor's, master's, DU and DESU) and experience in a company. It is a real bridge between the university and the company.

    The advantages of the work-study program for the student are :

    • The practical application of theoretical knowledge and the acquisition of professional skills related to a profession;
    • The student is free of charge for the training and registration fees;
    • Remuneration during the training as an employee of a company;
    • Easier access to employment, thanks to the professional experience acquired in a company.

    If you follow a work-linked training course, you will be an employee of a company and linked to it either by a professionalization contract or with an apprenticeship contract. This is a specific employment contract of the CDD or CDI type that includes training time.

    Work-study programs in post-baccalaureate training are in full development: more and more diplomas can now be acquired through work-study programs and the number of work-study students is increasing every year. The teaching principle is to combine periods of theoretical (at university) and practical (in-company) teaching in turn.

    • In the host company, the student is an employee and benefits from the same rights and obligations as the others.
    • At the same time, they have access to the advantages of student status.
    • Finally, throughout their contract, students benefit from two types of support: university and company tutoring.
  • 650 FC trainees and work-study students at the FEG

    The Faculty of Economics and Management has 650 CF and work-study trainees for the 2019 academic year, i.e. almost 10% of our staff, including 415 work-study students!

    All of our courses are eligible for continuing education, and all of the following courses can be taken as work-study courses: 11 Master's degrees, 4 Professional Licences, 6 DESU, 4 DU, 1 licence, etc.

  • A privileged partner: the CFA EPURE Méditerranée

    The objectives of the CFA are to :

    • to create a privileged meeting place between the professional branches and the Universities of the PACA Region
    • harmonising the regional supply of university-level training through apprenticeship
    • promote and develop work-study programmes at university level
    • to improve the professional integration of young people.

    It is based on strong values:

    • promoting access for all to higher education training in work-study programs
    • to make work-study programmes part of a responsible approach that listens to all stakeholders
    • to promote professional careers through work-study programmes in synergy with companies and professional organisations
  • A network of companies that trust us

    They have been welcoming our students in work-linked training for many years and facilitate their professional integration. Work-linked training is an additional guarantee of quality for the company, for the student and the assurance of a quick and successful professional insertion, beyond the very favourable rate we have today: 90.8% of graduates of a master's degree in economics and management find a job, the remaining 10% continue their studies or make long journeys before entering working life or are creators of companies!

  • Principles of alternation

    Work-linked training is a rhythm of training that is based on periods in the company and periods in training that alternate. It allows you to build a complete professional project thanks to a diploma course (bachelor's, master's, DU and DESU) and experience in a company. It is a real bridge between the university and the company. The advantages of the work-study program for the student are:

    • The practical application of theoretical knowledge and the acquisition of professional skills related to a profession;
    • The student is free of charge for the training and registration fees;
    • Remuneration during the training as an employee of a company;
    • Easier access to employment, thanks to the professional experience acquired in a company.

    If you are a student following a work-linked training course, you will be an employee of the company and linked to it with a professionalization contract. This is a specific contract of the CDD or CDI type that includes training time.

  • The actors of the work-study program

    This training scheme involves three main players: the student, the host company and the university as a training organisation. The success of the scheme is based on well-established responsibilities for each. The arrival of a work-study student in the company requires the employer to appoint a tutor who will support the student in his/her practical and theoretical training.

    The role of the employer :

    • To promote the professional integration of the work-study student in the company;
    • To give him/her the necessary means for practical training;
    • Enable the tutor to provide support for the work-study student, while at the same time carrying out his or her own work (time off for example).

    The role of the training organization :

    • To ensure the theoretical training of the trainee in order to obtain the diploma in question;
    • Ensure and closely monitor the partnership with the company;
    • To provide the trainee with all useful information.
  • Who is the work-study apprenticeship contract for?

    The audiences that can benefit from an apprenticeship contract are :

    • Young people between 16 and 29 years old;
    • People with disabilities of any age.
  • Who is the work-study program under a professionalization contract for?

    The audiences that can benefit from a professionalization contract are :

    • Young people between 16 and 25 years old;
    • Jobseekers aged over 26;
    • Recipients of the Active Solidarity Income (RSA), the Specific Solidarity Allowance (ASS) or the allowance for disabled adults;
    • Recipients of the single-parent allowance (API) in the overseas departments and the communities of Saint Barthélemy, Saint Martin and Saint Pierre and Miquelon;
    • Persons who have benefited from an assisted contract.
    • All companies subject to funding for continuing vocational training may take on work-study students on a professionalisation contract (the State, local authorities and their public administrative establishments may not enter into professionalisation contracts).
