  • Objectives

The "Evaluation and consultancy in social and economic action" course, formerly known as "Management and evaluation of public action" in the Economics of business and markets master's program, aims to support the growing use of evaluation, and even more so to encourage and anticipate its development. The principle of evaluation is now enshrined in a number of legislative texts as a tool for managing public action (vocational training, urban development, technological and innovation support policies, etc.) and for meeting certain non-discrimination obligations.

This course trains managers in the methods, techniques and tools of the evaluation approach, capable of assessing the impact, effectiveness, efficiency, coherence and relevance of projects and action programs for both public and private organizations. It trains project managers capable of mobilizing evaluation tools in the development and management of public or private programs and projects.

On completion of this program, graduates will be able to:

    • Set up and manage an evaluation project concerning the actions of organizations and administrations that depend, at least in part, on public action, whether at local, national or international level.
    • To respond to the commissioning and management of studies of the economic and social impact of public action, by setting up observation tools and then formalizing a diagnosis and recommendations.
    • Contribute to the performance of public action through the use of decision-making tools.
